Home Remedy For Asthma

The exact cause of this disease is not known but it can be triggered by allergies, air pollution, respiratory infections, emotions, weather conditions, sulfites in food and certain medications. Common symptoms include coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath and chest tightness.

There are many medical treatments for asthma. simple natural remedies can also provide relief from symptoms.

Ginger

Ginger is a well-known natural treatment for various ailments including asthma. Researchers have found that it can help reduce airway inflammation and inhibit airway contraction.
Plus, studies indicate that it has compounds that may enhance the muscle relaxant effects of certain asthma drugs.
  • Mix equal quantities of ginger juice, pomegranate juice and honey. Consume one tablespoon of this mixture two or three times a day.
  • Alternatively, you can mix one teaspoon of ground ginger in one and a half cups of water and take one tablespoon of this mixture at bedtime.
  • Cut one inch of ginger into small pieces and add it to a pot of boiling water. Let it steep for five minutes, allow it to cool down and then drink it.
  • To detoxify your lungs, prepare a fenugreek decoction by boiling one tablespoon of fenugreek seeds in a cup of water and mixing one teaspoon each of ginger juice and honey in it. Drink this solution every morning and evening.
  • You can also eat raw ginger mixed with salt.

Home Remedies For Chest Congestion

Chest congestion is a very common condition that most people have at some point during their lifetime. Symptoms of chest congestion can make you very uncomfortable and tired due to the short supply of oxygen.You can use some simple, natural homeremedies to get rid of chest congestion.


1. Ginger
Ginger can also help with chest congestion due to itsanti-inflammatory and immune-boosting properties. The polyphenols present in ginger help inhibit the secretion of mucus. Plus, ginger fights infection to get rid of the underlying cause of chest congestion.


  • Add 1 tablespoon of freshly chopped raw ginger pieces to a cup of hot water. Cover and allow it to steep for 5 minutes. Strain, then add a little honey. Drink up to 3 cups of this warm tea daily.
  • Alternatively, grind together 1 teaspoon each of dry ginger, black pepper and cloves to form a powder.
  • Divide it into 3 doses and take it 3 times a day with honey or milk.
  • You can even chew small ginger pieces or ginger candies throughout the day to get rid of congestion.
  • Follow these remedies for a few days or until your chest congestion is treated completely.

2. Onion
Onion is a good remedy for chest congestion. It has quercetin that helps dissolve the mucus. Plus, it prevents further buildup of mucus in the chest. Its antimicrobial properties also help prevent infection.


  • Extract the juice of 1 onion. Add equal amounts of lemon juice, honey and water. Heat this mixture until it is lukewarm. Drink this solution 3 or 4 times a day.
  • Alternatively, chew and swallow 5 or 6 small onions or shallots along with sugar before you go to bed at night.
  • You can also eat raw, baked or cooked onions to help mucus flow easily.
  • Follow these remedies daily until the chest congestion is gone.

3. Salt Water
Gargling with salt water several times a day is an effective treatment for chest congestion. While the salt helps remove mucus from the respiratory tract, the hot water reduces irritation in the throat.


  • Add 1 teaspoon of salt to a glass of warm water.
  • Mix well until the salt is dissolved thoroughly.
  • Gargle with it 2 or 3 times daily until your congestion is under control.

Home Remedies For Dandruff

Dandruff, also known as Seborrheic dermatitis is a common scalp disorder. It can occur due to dry skin, irritated oily skin, growth of bacteria and fungus on the scalp, inflammatory skin conditions and other such factors.
Dandruff can be controlled by following healthy hair care routine. However, it can even be controlled with easy to follow natural remedies.


Apple Cider Vinegar
Scalp treatment with apple cider vinegar is effective in getting rid of dandruff. It restores the pH balance of the scalp, thereby inhibiting the growth of yeast. It also helps works a natural clarifier and helps clean clogged pores and hair follicles.

  • Take two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar.
  • Add an equal amount of water and 15-20 drops of tea tree oil in it.
  • Apply it onto your scalp and massage. Rinse your hair after a few minutes.
  • Follow this natural treatment twice or three times a week.

Scalp treatment with apple cider vinegar is effective in getting rid of dandruff.
