How to keep your skin SOFT in winter - skin care tips

How to keep your skin SOFT in winter

Everyone wishes to have soft skin in winter. A lot of people face skin dryness problem in winter so lets see how we can overcome this issue in easy way.

In winter, the air effects skin and skin dryness is common. When the air is frosty and dry outside and any kind of indoor heat (even for the sake of care from cold in winter) may leave it even drier. Natural skin's protective barriers will react up to a limit and then will be cracked, and usually it unable to renovate itself. It becomes a violent cycle until unless we start doing some precautionary measures.

Following are simple yet effective things you need to make sure to apply and you will see it yourself how miraculous and beneficial these are for you.

Silky Smooth:
You can reduce bumps appearance by using any (of your choice) “salicylic acid” lotion which will simply remove dead cells and as a result your skin will be shiny clean.

Hands care with caring hands
Chapping Parched hands is a common issue and you can keep your hands safe from it by using soap-free and nonalcoholic hand antiseptic (supplement or alternative to hand washing with soap and water). Using a good quality of moisturizer is far better (make sure it should be soap-free) it will keep your hands skin in proper condition because washing again and again (or making hands wet) because of dryness destroys the skin.

Honey: Best for you & your skin
To make softer inflexible dried out patches on bumpy rough elbows and knees, honey is a rich, hydrating polish. Honey decreases swelling and irritation and in winter when blood circulation is diverted from the skin to keep your core warm honey is the best thing you can use to project your skin and to keep yourself fit.

Milk: complete diet, complete beauty
It is said that Queen Cleopatra used to bathe in milk. Skin specialists say lactic acid (major essence of milk) is the best moisturizer and is also considered as the best thing to let you get rid of dead cells from your skin. It's an incredibly effective moisturizer, and it also works as a powerful exfoliate, so those scales (especially from your arms, legs etc.) go away.

Body Cleanser:
Before taking bath, applying fine quality bath oil or moisturizing body cleanser will set up a good creamy layer on your body especially on arms, legs, chest etc.

Feet care:
Hard skin of foot is the cause of worry because of many people. To solve this issue, gently rub the feet skin to gently through away hard skin especially at night. Wearing socks overnight gives more results. Doing this on regular basis gives magical outcomes.
Long showers are not so good.

Misc. Tips:
Keep showers short to save your skin. Avoid blends of cotton and synthetic fibers, which might be irritating. The softer your sheets and sleepwear, the better, but you needn't invest in silk.  "Tightly woven natural fabrics like cotton or cotton flannel are best for patients with sensitive skin or eczema," says Dr. Zeichner.

Heavy school bags and children

Heavy school bags can cause serious health problems for children
I remember, the time when I used to go school. I always had heavy bag with me full of books, note books, lunch box, water bottle, some sports box etc. Without any assistance I took my bag from home to school and school to home. Although, school was not far from my home but the small distance I used to cover in frustration, and shoulder aches. No one ever felt the pain I suffer due to my heavy bag. Heavy bags were considered a sign of hard working and brilliant students. The same concept is seen now a days, I observe students carrying heavy bags on their backs frustrated, and angry. I see, while walking they keep their bags downs and sit at road to relax for some seconds, carry bag at one shoulder, or on the crook of elbow and many other such postures. Oh! that time I feel what they actually face.
The purpose is not only to feel the pain of children but assist them being aware of their pain as;
  • Studies approved that bags if they're more than 15 % of the child’s weight may lead to neck, shoulders and back pains.
  • Heavy bags can strain muscles, joints and may cause back pain and serious spinal injuries in later life.
  • Heavy backpacks can cause turning of shoulders.
  • Sometimes due to putting bag on back or shoulders inappropriately can also be reason to strain muscles and later on lead to joint problems.
  • Carrying heavy bag regularly can damage spine.

So It is very essential to check the weight of child’s bag to protect them from back and shoulders injuries.

Parents should try to check child’s school bag regularly so that extra and unnecessary stuff could be removed from bag to make it lighter.

Parents must select child's bag with lighter weight so that it reduce the weight after filling it.

Parents should teach the children how to carry bag correctly Or  bags with wheels can be preferred so that children can wheel their bags along.
